Good morning, today's Factwire has safer sign-ins for AI agents, a Microsoft medical AI study, and new phone skills for Grok Bot.

AI agents can soon log in for you without seeing your password

In one line: 1Password for Agents lets AI helpers use your saved logins after you approve.

What happened:

  • You approve each request, and 1Password fills in the login so the agent never sees it.

  • Grok Bot support is rolling out over the coming days, 1Password says.

  • No extra cost for Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com.

Why it matters: Handing a bot your password is risky. This keeps you in charge.

1Password, Oct 22, 2026.

Factwire's take: AI helpers are only useful if they can get into your accounts, and that has meant trusting them with too much. An approve step in 1Password is a sensible middle ground. Until it shows up for you, keep your passwords out of the chat box.

Microsoft's diagnosis AI outscored doctors in a study published in Science

In one line: Microsoft says its MAI-DxO system got hard medical cases right far more often than physicians did. The work is now published in Science.

What happened:

  • On tough New England Journal of Medicine cases turned into a test, it scored 83%. Doctors scored 36% with references and 22% without.

  • On emergency room cases it scored 80% versus 47%.

  • Next is a study at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston where patients use the system.

Why it matters: These were recorded cases, not live patients. The hospital study is the real test of whether this helps you at the doctor.

Grok Bot gets access to Calendar, Reminders and Contacts on your phone

In one line: The official Grok Bot account says the update lets Grok Bot work with Calendar, Reminders, Contacts and other phone apps.

What happened:

  • The update is rolling out now on iOS and Android, so it may not show up for everyone yet.

  • The post names those three apps and says more are included, without listing the rest.

Why it matters: A helper that can see your schedule and contacts can handle the small chores that eat up your day.

Try it this week: see how 1Password for Agents asks before a login

  1. Keep using an AI agent you already have, and let it reach a sign-in page.

  2. If your agent supports 1Password, the agent app will ask for the login it needs.

  3. Check which login it wants, then approve it in 1Password.

  4. 1Password fills it in, so the agent never sees your password or one-time code.

Shortcut: If your agent doesn't support 1Password yet, sign in yourself instead of pasting a password into the chat.
