On Oct 19, 2026, the @bot account on X said Grok Bot can now be your iPhone Action Button. Press it to talk with Bot. That turns the small button on the side of your phone into a one press shortcut to your AI helper.
How to set it up
Make sure the Grok Bot app on your iPhone is version 1.16 or later.
Open the Settings app and tap Action Button.
Swipe through the actions until you reach Shortcut.
Tap the button below the action, then choose Grok Bot, then Start Voice Chat. Apple notes that for the Shortcut, Controls and Accessibility actions you must pick a specific option, or the button does nothing.
Press and hold the Action Button to start talking with Bot.
Not every iPhone has an Action Button. Apple's guide lists the models that do. The @bot account says you need Grok Bot version 1.16 or later.

FAQ
Can I switch back later? Yes. Go back to Settings, then Action Button, and pick a different action.
